Great facilities. Great scenery. Came for a group camping trip with kids. Bathrooms were clean & kept warm. Playground was fun, well designed & somewhat kept up. Little worn in places & no net for the volleyball court.

One of my favorite state parks in Texas. I love this place and enjoy the walking trails often.

Interactions with staff were friendly. Only issue was early closure of the front office.

As with most Texas State Parks the ground at the campsite was a bit rocky but worked out well. With good resources for power/water/trash located nearby.

This is a great park! The whole family enjoyed it! They trails are scenic and the maps are easy to follow. They new fishing dock is great. The kids loved the swimming area and my wife liked that the play area was close. We all felt safe with all the Park Rangers around. We have been several times this year and plan to reserve a cabin soon to stay longer.

Full service state park west of the city of Cleburne, accessible from US 67. An area of wooded chalk bluffs with a small lake and spillway, the park includes multiple camping areas, many near the water, which accommodate tents, small campers, and trailers Group barracks with a dining hall also available. For day use, the lake area includes a boat ramp, (no wake/no personal watercraft), swimming area and park store. 13 miles of mountain bike and hiking trails on the bluffs around the edge of the park and in the meadows south of the spillway. Can be wicked crowded.

Second time to camp here. Much better experience than the first time. We did some biking and fishing. They have a small amount of screened shelters. Most of the campsites along the water are 50amp sites that cost extra. It's be nice if there were some regular tent sites there as well, but overall a great place to camp close to the metroplex.
